We were established in 1985 when the Foundation’s parent organization, recognized the need for education at the college level for students interested in pursuing catering as a career. Although it is an independent, non-profit corporation, separate from its parent group, the Foundation works in areas that benefit the general membership, as well as the catering industry which it serves.
Since the first Foundation grants were awarded in 1989, more than 1,100 students have benefited from catering courses funded by the Foundation. In addition, a textbook on hotel catering was written as a direct result of a grant to UNLV. The Foundation, is taking the lead among hospitality management programs worldwide by establishing the Catering Research Institute.
